On June 28, the award ceremony for the 2023 “Tell China's Story” - “Foreign Cultural Trade” Talent Selection Competition for International Students in China and the launching ceremony for Entrepreneurship Training upon Returning China, sponsored by the Center for International Cultural Communication of the China International Communications Group (CICG) and Sinolingua Co., Ltd., and organized by Beijing Huayu Time Culture Media Co., Ltd., kicked off in Beijing. Liu Dawei, Deputy Director of CICG, attended the event. Guests from the Embassy of Cameroon in China, the Embassy of Gabon in China, the China Scholarship Council, China.com.cn, and other relevant organizations were also present at the event. Additionally, over a hundred guests were present, including representatives of overseas students, presidents of overseas student associations, representatives from universities and colleges and from companies, and representatives of advisors for the competitors.
The 2023 “Tell China's Story” - “Foreign Cultural Trade” Talent Selection Competition for International Students in China was officially launched in January 2023. It received comprehensive support from numerous Chinese universities and colleges, attracting widespread attention and enthusiastic participation from international students in China. More than 8,000 students from over a hundred countries and more than four hundred universities and colleges eagerly signed up for the competition. After a rigorous evaluation process, YSU has been honored with the Outstanding Colleges and Universities Award; Ge Wei, an instructor from the School of International Education, has been awarded the Outstanding Advisor Award; Yang Jing and Li Hui, students from Turkmenistan, have received the Cultural Mutual Learning and Friendship Award; and Gu He has been honored with the Cultural Communications Vitality Award.
The 2023 “Tell China's Story” - “Foreign Cultural Trade” Talent Selection Competition for International Students in China actively implements the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the symposium on cultural inheritance and development, as well as the series of important speeches on the inheritance and development of Chinese culture. It is an important initiative to protect and inherit the outstanding traditional Chinese culture, promote continuous innovation, and advance the internationalization of the Chinese culture.
The School of International Education’s achievements in this competition fully demonstrate the fruitful results of talent cultivation in the school. In the future, YSU will continue to focus on the education of international students in China, comprehensively explore and innovate the path of overseas development of the Chinese culture and trade, promote the high-quality and content-oriented development of education for international students, tell China's story well, present a more comprehensive, authentic, and three-dimensional image of China, and continue to contribute to promoting the internationalization of the Chinese culture and enhancing its influence.
