Professor Zhou Xiangfeng of the High-Pressure Scientific Research Center, State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology, Yanshan University (YSU), was successfully listed in the Outstanding Referees for 2024 recently published by American Physical Society (APS).

More than 10 Physical Review journals, such as Reviews of Modern Physics and Physical Review Letters published by APS, have become the journal clusters with the greatest academic and brand influences in physics all over the world. APS Outstanding Referee was established by APS in 2008, and since then, about 150 people have been carefully selected every year, aiming at recognizing their contributions to the review quantity, quality, and feedback timeliness of papers as well as their professionalism, impartiality, and constructiveness in the review process.
Based on the review records of more than 40 years, 156 outstanding referees from 62 countries and regions were selected from 91,600 candidates this year. Like APS fellows, outstanding referee is also a lifelong honor. Since 2008, 48 researchers from universities and research institutions in the Chinese mainland have been selected as the outstanding referees. Professor Zhou Xiangfeng is mainly engaged in the research of metastable compounds made of light elements and has made important achievements in material design and synthesis, novel physical properties and structures, etc.
