The 61st Higher Education Expo China (HEEC) was held from April 15 to 17 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Zhao Xianfeng, Secretary of the CPC YSU Committee, attended the opening ceremony and other activities. Du Yubo, President of the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) and former Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Education (MOE), and Lin Wenbin, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The Expo was also attended by Chen Xingying, full-time Vice Chairperson of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, and Lin Huiqing, Guan Peijun, Li Jiajun, Zhang Daliang, Jiang Enlai, Zhou Yu and Yang Zhenbin, Vice Presidents of CAHE. Li Nan, Vice President and Secretary General of CAHE, presided over the opening ceremony.

Under the theme of “vocation-university integration, industry-university integration, and science-university integration”, the 61st HEEC aims to serve the coordinated development of education, technology and talent, and includes two parts: exhibition and academic activities. The exhibition covers an area of 120,000+ square meters, with 1,500+ participating institutions and 100,000+ offline visitors. The State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology at YSU represented the University to participate in the higher education exhibition at the 61st HEEC with the theme of “serving the country’s strategic needs for new metastable materials based on fundamental research and oriented to the world’s cutting-edge technology”. During the exhibition, Lin Huiqing, Vice President of CAHE and former member of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice-Minister of MOE, Jiang Enlai, Vice President of CAHE, and Lei Chaozi, Vice President of China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association and former Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Informatization of MOE, visited YSU’s exhibition booth. They highly praised the high-level achievements made by the University in the theoretical design and preparation of new superhard materials, new lightweight structural materials, and heavy-duty railway frog welding technology, and expressed their best wishes for the future development of the University.

At the invitation of CAHE and China Education Online, Zhao Xianfeng, Secretary of the CPC YSU Committee, attended the high-end interview program “Frontier of Higher Education”. He was interviewed by the reporter of China Education Online on topics such as contributing to building a country with a strong education industry, developing new quality productive forces, strengthening organized scientific research, promoting the transformation of sci-tech achievements, and boosting the employment for university graduates.

During the HEEC, Zhao Xianfeng was also invited to the academic forum on “Generative Artificial Intelligence Empowering Educational Innovation” co-hosted by the Learning Science Research Branch of CAHE and Fujian Normal University, where he delivered a speech. The theme of the forum is highly in line with the education reform task in the new era. Six experts and scholars, including Chen Li, former Vice President of Beijing Normal University and Vice President of the China Association for Educational Technology, made excellent presentations which received high praise from the attendees and achieved good response and expected results. The forum has an important and far-reaching impact on promoting the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and educational reform in China.

During the Expo, Zhao Xianfeng had in-depth exchanges with CAHE leaders and colleagues from sister universities.
