On June 19, Yanshan University Press (YSU Press) and the Royal Collins Publishing Group of Canada held a signing ceremony for publishing the English versions of the Great Wall-themed books at the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF). Notable figures in attendance at the ceremony included Wang Zhenru, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Director of the Film Bureau of Hebei Province; Liu Ganghu, Director of the Publishing Department; and Dong Xuming, author of The Great Wall of China. The attendees also included Chen Yu, President of YSU Press; Dong Shifei, editor-in-chief for the same institution; Bob Song, President of Royal Collins Publishing Group Asia-Pacific Region; and Agnès Belotel-Grenié, French chief editor for Royal Collins. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Yuehong, editor for YSU Press.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the “Love our China, restore our Great Wall” campaign in 2024, YSU Press has entered into a contract with Royal Collins Publishing Group to publish the English versions of the books “The Great Wall: History and Insight” and “The Great Wall of China”. The objective is to further disseminate the rich cultural heritage of traditional Chinese civilization to English-speaking countries and to expose more English readers to the profound cultural significance of the Great Wall.

Dong Shifei, editor-in-chief of YSU Press, noted that the publication of “The Great Wall: History and Insight” and “The Great Wall of China” in English would allow readers from more countries to gain insight into China and the Great Wall. YSU Press will remain committed to the inheritance and innovation of the Great Wall culture, and will continue to launch more excellent cultural works. The YSU Press is also eager to expand its collaboration with international publishing houses with the aim of jointly promoting cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and the international community.

This year's BIBF, themed “Deepening exchanges and learning between civilizations, building a win-win future filled with cooperation”, was hosted by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and organized by China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd., with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia serving as the guest of honor. YSU Press exhibited a comprehensive selection of over 100 titles at the event. The leading officials of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee conducted an inspection of the YSU Press booth and provided guidance at the fair.
