Recently, the 9th International Conference on Advances in Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering (ICACMVE 2024) was held in Qinhuangdao City. The Conference was hosted by China Construction Machinery Society (CCMS), and organized by YSU, National Key Laboratory of Key Technologies for Cranes, and Hebei Provincial Key Laboratory of Special Vehicle Equipment.

Numerous Chinese and international experts, scholars, and chief engineers from the field of mechanical and vehicle engineering gathered at the Conference to discuss the latest advancements and development trends in the industry.

The Conference opened at the Student Activity Center in the West Campus of YSU at 8.00 AM on November 8. The opening ceremony was hosted by Peng Yan, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at YSU. In the opening remarks, Zhao Xianfeng extended a warm welcome to the guests, experts, and scholars in attendance. He also expressed sincere gratitude to friends from all sectors who have supported and contributed to the development of YSU over the years. Zhao expressed his hope that YSU would contribute more wisdom and strength to the field of mechanical and vehicle engineering.

In the speech, Bian Yongming highlighted the recent achievements of CCMS in serving scientific and technological workers, promoting scientific and technological innovation, improving the public's scientific literacy, and serving the Party and the nation's scientific decision-making. Following the keynote report sessions on the morning of November 8, the launch ceremony of the new book Handbook of Construction Machinery was held. Liu Yang, Director of Tsinghua University Press hosted the ceremony. Professor Shi Laide, Secretary of the CPC CCMS Committee, and Mr. Zhou Xianbiao, Secretary-General of CCMS, unveiled the new book.

At the chief engineer forum on the afternoon of November 8, Liu Yanbin, Senior Engineer of Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., Zhu Jianxin, Deputy General Manager of Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Lin Mingzhi, Chief Engineer (National Excellent Engineer) of Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., Lin Fulong, Senior Engineer of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd., and Qi Feng, Senior Vice President of Siemens Industrial Software, introduced the technological advancements of leading domestic construction machinery companies, and shared their experiences and insights on the intelligent and digital transformation, and electrification practice of the construction machinery.
Topics of the Conference include: new designs and structures of engineering machinery and vehicles, cooperation achievements and models in industry-academia-research-application integration in the field of engineering machinery and vehicles, electrification and green development of engineering machinery and vehicles, research on new productive force of engineering machinery and vehicles, manufacturing and service research of basic components of engineering machinery and vehicles, human-computer interaction and digital twin of engineering machinery and vehicles, transformative construction methods of engineering machinery and vehicles, intelligent and unmanned operations of engineering machinery and vehicles, fundamental theories and control methods of engineering machinery and vehicles, dynamics theory and electro-hydraulic control technology of engineering machinery and vehicles, inspection and testing methods and equipment for engineering machinery and vehicles. On 7 forums including the youth forum, 88 engineering scholars delivered keynote reports on several hot topics, including new designs, new structures, electrification, green and intelligent development, and unmanned operation of engineering machinery and vehicles.
The closing ceremony was hosted by Professor Huang Xinghua, Honorary Vice Chairman of CCMS. Professor Ai Chao from YSU summarized the achievements of the Conference on behalf of the organizers. Professor Shi Laide, Secretary of the CPC CCMS Committee, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of the host.
During the Conference, participants also visited the test site of the National Key Laboratory of Key Technologies for Cranes at YSU, and watched the on-site demonstration of active suspension technology for high-mobility wheeled engineering vehicles.

The ICACMVE is a flagship conference in the field, aiming to provide a high-level academic exchange platform for domestic and foreign experts, scholars, and business representatives, promoting technological innovation and development in the field of mechanical and vehicle engineering, and fostering deep industry-academia-research-application integration. The Conference was organized by Jilin University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chang'an University, Huaqiao University, Changsha University of Science & Technology, Shenyang Jianzhu University, Jimei University, Hebei Rubritan New Materials Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao UE Chuanglian Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the Earthmoving Machinery Branch of CCMS, the Extra Large Engineering Transport Vehicle Branch of CCMS, Tongji University Major Engineering Construction Technology and Equipment Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, the editorial department of the Chinese Journal of Construction Machinery, and the editorial department of Advanced Equipment. The Conference attracted over 500 participants from 113 institutions, including 105 universities and 8 companies, and accepted 104 papers.
