The 2024 annual “Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award” was presented at a ceremony held on December 3 during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Equipment Manufacturing Forum in Chongqing. Professor Zhao Dingxuan, from YSU's School of Mechanical Engineering, accepted the Grand Prize for Technological Invention on behalf of the recipients of the “Key Technological Innovation and Applications of Suspension Systems for High-Mobility Wheeled Engineering Vehicles” project. Professor Kong Xiangdong was also present to accept the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress on behalf of the recipients of the “Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent Rotary Drilling Rigs” project.

The 2024 Equipment Manufacturing Forum took place in Chongqing from December 3-5. Representatives from governments, industry associations, international organizations, companies across the upstream and downstream of the industry value chain, colleges and universities, research institutes, financial institutions, as well as guests including experts and academicians, gathered to discuss the future of the equipment manufacturing sector. The event, themed “Better Equipment, Better World - Intelligent Green Integration”, featured multiple thematic forums and specialized workshops, round table discussions, exhibitions, and other activities centered on trending topics such as intelligent innovation, green and low-carbon practices, and integrated growth.
