2025 Carbon Neutrality & New Energy System Frontier Technology Summit Held at YSU

On March 29, the 2025 Carbon Neutrality & New Energy System Frontier Technology Summit was held at YSU. This event was jointly organized by YSU, the Integrated System Specialized Committee and the Solar Building Specialized Committee of China Renewable Energy Society (CRES). It was hosted by YSU Institute of Science and Technology, Institute of Dual-Carbon Science and Technology, School of Electrical Engineering, and Technology Industry Promotion Center. Over a hundred participants were invited to the conference, including YSU leaders, renowned domestic experts and scholars in the field of new energy, senior executives and R&D personnel from new energy enterprises, and YSU alumni.

On the morning of March 29, the Carbon Neutrality & New Energy System Frontier Technology Summit was held, with invited attendees including Wang Yuehua, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC YSU Committee and Vice President of YSU, Liang Zhipeng, Former Deputy Director-General of the Department of Legal and Institutional Reform of the National Energy Administration, Xu Honghua, Director of the Specialized Committee, CRES, Liu Chun, Deputy Director of the Specialized Committee, CRES, Shao Guiping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Specialized Committee, CRES, Shi Jingli and Fang Jiakun, Committee Members, CRES, and Zhang Chuan, Technical Expert, CRES. The conference was chaired by Shao Guiping.

Wang Yuehua delivered a speech at the conference, pointing out that the energy sector is the primary battleground for the "dual-carbon" strategy. He emphasized the profound significance of this forum and noted that the participation of authoritative institutions and industry leaders would provide robust support for advancing related initiatives. He also highlighted YSU's profound expertise in the energy field, including disciplinary development and scientific research achievements. In closing, he expressed the University's hope to take this forum as a new starting point to collaborate with all sectors in advancing the construction of a carbon-neutral new energy system, and wished the forum a complete success.

After his speech, a number of leading industry experts delivered keynote reports. Xu Honghua, Researcher from the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a presentation titled Practical Pathways for China's Low-Carbon, Low-Cost Energy Transition and Development Opportunities for Integrated Renewable Energy Systems, elaborating on energy transition strategies and opportunities from a macro perspective. Professor Fang Jiakun from Huazhong University of Science and Technology shared insights from his research on Optimization and Practice of Integrated Oil & Gas Energy Transmission Systems, offering valuable references for the development of energy transmission. Zhang Chuan, Researcher from the Institute of Energy, Peking University, presented unique perspectives in Explorations and Reflections on Current Energy System Research, broadening academic horizons. Shi Jingli, Researcher from the Energy Research Institute, National Development and Reform Commission, provided an in-depth analysis of Market-Oriented Reform of New Energy Feed-in Tariffs, helping the industry better navigate policy trends.

In the afternoon, a closed-door salon was organized on the theme of "New Power Reform · New Opportunities · New Challenges: The Path to Restructuring the New Power System under the Guidance of Policy Document No. 136". Experts from multiple institutions were invited to participate, including the National Energy Administration, Energy Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research, China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute, Chongqing Three Gorges Water Conservancy and Electric Power (Group) Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Electric Power Trading Center Co., Ltd., Kunming Electric Power Trading Center, Trinapower Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University. The attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on energy transition and the construction of a new energy system.

Conference venue

Through this conference, experts shared multi-dimensional perspectives on energy transition and the construction of a new energy system. They provided professional recommendations for optimizing energy structures, advancing technological innovation, and refining policy mechanisms, aiming to accelerate the transition of China's energy system toward low-carbon, high-efficiency, and secure development.
