On August 15, ShanghaiRanking, a globally recognized higher education evaluation institution, officially released the 2026 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). YSU entered the global top 500 for the first time, ranking 447th worldwide. It rose 94 places compared with its 2025 ranking, marking the highest position in YSU’s history.
First published in 2003, the ARWU was the first comprehensive global university ranking. With its objective and transparent evaluation methodology, it has played a leading role in the development of international university rankings. It has now become one of the most influential and authoritative university rankings worldwide and is widely reported and extensively cited across the globe.
