Prof. Liu is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Jilin University, Assistant Dean of School of Communication Engineering, Secretary-general of Jilin Association of Automation, one of the first leading professors in Jilin Province, and discipline leader of Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System at Jilin University.
He obtained his Ph.D. in 2002 from Jilin University and did two postdoctoral researches at Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2003 to 2004 and Harbin Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2009 respectively. He has been engaged in the research of computer vision and pattern recognition, key bioinformatics technology and application since 2000; and has published 110 academic papers so far, 10 of which are indexed by SCI, and 63 by EI and ISTP. Besides, he also obtained 6 national invention patents.

Miaolei Zhou, professor and doctoralsupervisor at Jilin University, is mainly engaged in the research of new-type intelligent material actuator and drive mechanism control method.
He did his postdoctoral research at Tokyo University from 2006 to 2008. He completed more than 20 research projects of national and provincial-ministerial level supported by National Natural Science Foundation, National High-tech Research and Development Program (863 Program) and research and development and special industrialization of Internet technology proposed by National Development and Reform Commission. He has published more than 60 academic papers, 18 of which are indexed by SCI and morethan 30 by EI. He won the first prize of Jilin Science and Technology Progress Award and the third prize of Jilin Natural Science Academic Achievement Award. Meanwhile, he is also a member of IEEE and National Youth Commission, chairman and member of over 20 TPC international conferences. He is also a reviewer of 10 journals indexed by SCI and EI, including: IEEE/ASME TM, IEEE TCST, IEEETNNLS, IEEE TM, IEEE TSMCS, ISA Transaction and Chinese and English version of Chinese Journal of Electronics.
