Time: 7:00 pm, May 22nd(Monday), 2017
Venue: B102, 5thTeaching Building, West Campus
Lecturer: Prof. Libo Wei
About the lecture: All good principles should adapt to changing times to remain relevant. In 2013, China initiated the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, opening a new chapter of mutual exchanges among civilizations. The Belt and Road, with openness and inclusiveness, cooperation and mutual benefits, has healed the world’s scars brought by the unbalanced development and promoted the rebalancing of the world economy, creating equal opportunities for development. Jointly built through consultation to meet the interests of all, it has activated the potential of all countries and built the road of dreams for people of all countries. What’s more, it has kept the China Dream and the World Dream together, profoundly influencing the change of international order.
When the Great Tao prevailed, the whole world was one community. Allowing different countries, different classes, and different people to share opportunities is the bright future that The Belt and Road has shown us. It is also the only way to work together to build a community of shared destiny.
On the successful closing of Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, School of Economics and Management invited Prof. Wei to interpret The Belt and Road and Chinese scheme, as a part of The Belt and Road---Building China Dream lecture series.
