About the Lecturer:Prof. Zhenling Zhao, master supervisor, instructional leader and Director of National Vocal Music Department at Tianjin Conservatory of Music, is a famous tenor singer and Vice President of the National Vocality and Art Institution of China. He was once a committee member of All-China Youth Federation and member of the 9th, 10th, 11thand 12thTianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Zhao won “Silver Peacock Cup” award in the 1stNational Song and Popular Songs Competition, the First Prize in the national radio song evaluation for creating and singing the song “Housheng Zaibu Chou Quxi Nan” in 1987, the prize for professional excellent singer in the 3rdNational Young Singers’ Competition in 1988, the golden prize in “Jinzhou Cup” national singing competition in 1990, and was selected as “the national favorite singer” by Central Radio Station twice. He held a number of individual concerts and published “40 Chinese Folk Songs”, “The Moon Viewed at Home is More Bright” and other personal albums. He has sung many theme and interlude songs for films and TV dramas. In the past 30 years, Zhao has trained a group of outstanding students who won prizes in the national and provincial-level vocal competitions. Besides, Zhao has been invited to hold academic lectures and concerts at China Conservatory of Music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Guangxi Arts University, Guizhou University, Shanxi University, Zhejiang Normal University, Shandong Normal University, Fujian Normal University and other art academies. And he was recruited as a visiting professor at many art academies. Zhao has published more than 20 papers on People’s Music, Chinese Music, and Art of Singing and other academic publications.
