Topic:Application of Time Delay Calculation in Resting-state NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)
Lecturer:Yunjie Tong
About the Lecturer:Assistant Professor anddoctoral dissertation supervisorof Purdue University, he graduated from the Department of Physics of Peking University and then received a doctor's degree in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Tufts University. He worked at theNMRimaging center of McLean hospital (a famous psychiatric hospital of the United States) from 2008 to 2016.He was once the post-doctoral, assistant and assistant professor of Harvard Medical School. And he has been the Assistant Professor anddoctoral dissertation supervisorof Purdue University since 2017. The main research contains include: data processing of resting-state NMR, denoising, the relationship between brain function and cerebral blood flow, and the study of components of functional signal.
About the Lecture:Time delay calculation is based on such a kind of observation: many physiological phenomena often cause the specific oscillation of blood or blood vessels, thereby affecting the change of NMR or near infrared signals. This physiological shock can be transmitted to the brain and body through blood. Time delay calculation is a way to record this dynamic signal and use it as a biomarker. Based on this method, we can detect the state of the cerebral blood flow and propose new denoising methods for NMR and NIR. Here, the speaker will mainly introduce the application of time delay calculation in the resting-state NMR.
