About the Lecture:During a short visit to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, I met Professor Yang Qiang at a café on the first floor of the laboratory. I told him that having drunk too much coffee for those days, I felt a bit addicted and maybe I‘d better quit. “Why should you quit? Getting addicted is not necessarily a bad thing”, Mr. Yang said, “If we were as addicted to research as to coffee, how would a study not work out?”It’s true that “addiction” is a wonderful place in life, whether in research or in other things. As long as you are focused on it and make efforts, you are able to do it well. I will divide the research into four stages and introduce research experience from how to get started to how to become a qualified doctor.
