Topic:TRIZ and Its Application in Scientific Research and Teaching

Lecturer:Gao Guohua

Introduction to the lecturer:Gao Guohua, is now a professor, doctoral supervisor, and Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology, Beijing University of Technology. Prof. Gao is a member of MOE TRIZ Teaching Guidance Committee, Director of Beijing Science and Technology New Star and Beijing Productivity Center Innovation Method Training Base and has gained Level 3 TRIZ Master. Prof. Gao is the lecturer ofMechanical Design, a national excellent shared course andTRIZ and Its Application, a national open course. As the director, he has been presiding over more than 30 projects including National Key R&D Plan, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Special Program for Innovative Method of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published more than 50 academic papers as well as more than 40 invention patents. He won Beijing Science and Technology Third Award and second award from China Construction Machinery Association. Gao has conducted training and R&D of TRIZ for dozens of institutes including Beijing Productivity Center, Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Association for Science and Technology, China Association for Standardization, and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences.

Introduction to the lecture:TRIZ refers to Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. Originating from the former Soviet Union, TRIZ successfully revealed the inherent laws and principles of creative invention. It focuses on clarifying and emphasizing the contradictions in the system, aiming to completely resolve the contradictions and to obtain the ultimate ideal solution. Through continuous theoretical research and practical exploration, TRIZ has formed a set of complete system of methods and tools. Practice has proved that the application of TRIZ can greatly accelerate create the process of invention and obtain quality innovative products. In more than 500 well-known enterprises such as Ford in America, Siemens in Germany and Samsung in South Korea, the application of TRIZ has not only achieved obvious economic benefits, but also greatly improved the independent innovation ability of enterprises.
