Lecture Content
Large forgings are the core components of China's energy, power, transportation, aerospace, and weaponry industries. Their manufacturing capabilities are one of the important indicators for measuring a country's industrial level. Contrary to the high quality requirements of large forgings in major projects, the larger the size of the forging, the more serious defects in the internal organization, and the lower the degree of homogenization. The root of this problem is that traditionally, large forgings are manufactured by means of “big-scale”, that is, large ingots are the priority in the manufacture, which leads to the poor homogeneity of the forging, which seriously affects the material performance and has become a worldwide problem.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop transformative technologies, solve defects such as macro-segregation of large forgings, and achieve homogenization preparation. Inspired by the construction field, the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the first in the world to propose a new material processing technology: metal construction molding technology. This technology is to process a plurality of homogenized substrates by surface treatment, stacking and blanking, and vacuum packaging. Perform large deformation at high temperatures, fully heal and eliminate the interface to achieve “no trace connection”. The core idea is “primary construction, small system”, which is the original innovation in the field of large component manufacturing that has not been reported internationally. Through five years of basic research, the current metal forming and forming technology has been applied to hydropower engineering runner spindles, UHV transmission tower rings and other products, which are expected to solve ships, fast reactors, Card neck problems in the manufacture of core components such as gas turbines and aerospace.
All are welcome.
