Speaker Introduction
Academician Tong Zhenhe is an organic chemist. He graduated from the Chemistry Department of the University of Science and Technology of China in 1963. He received his PhD from Columbia University in 1983 and was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999. He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Academic Committee, andDirector of the Photochemical Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society. He also servesas editor of some international journals such as “Photochemand Photobiol”, “J. Photochem. Photobiol. C: Photochem. Rev.”, “J. Phys. Org. Chem.”.
He has been engaged in the study of light-induced energy transfer, electron transfer and chemical conversion in supramolecular systems, the selectivity of photochemical reactions controlled by microreactors, electron transfer and energy transfer in supramolecular systems, photocatalytic decomposition of water to produce hydrogen.
In 1992, he won the second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (PI). In 2003, he won the award ofThe Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation among other achievements.
All are welcome.
