Lecturer Introduction
Dr Hou Yu received his PhD in Translation Studies from the Macquarie University, Australia. He is an Associate Professor and MA supervisor of Yanshan University, the School of Foreign Studies. His main research interests: the study of the English translation of the Chinese novel Dream of the Red Mansion, the style of the translatorHoward Goldblattof modern and contemporary Chinese literature, and the compilation of the four-character English dictionary of “The Dream of the Red Mansion”. He presided over 2 projects of Humanities and Social Sciences projects of the Ministry of Education, 2 Social Science Fund projects of Hebei Province, Hebei Young Top Talents Project, Yanshan University’s first Youth Teacher Self-study category A project and the second “Emerging Talent Project”. He has published academic 2 monographs and several SSCI and CSSCI indexed academic papers among some awards.
Lecture Content
Dr. Hou will share his 15 years of researching and teaching experiences in choosing research interests, publication, resource utilization, teamwork, and research mentality. The lecture will contribute to the development of our teachers and students’ academic research capabilities.
