[News from the News Center] On December 1, the academic conference of Mechanical Engineering discipline and the 12th Graduate Forum was held at YSU. The forum invited five well-known domestic experts and doctoral students from 14 universities to give presentations. Zhao Dingxuan, YSU Deputy Party Secretary and YSU President, YSU Vice Presidents Ren Jiadong, Wang Desong, Zhang Lifeng, Former Vice President Kong Xiangdong, and relevant leaders of Graduate School, Academy of Science and Technology, and School of Mechanical Engineering attended the forum, which was hosted by Peng Yan, the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering.

At 8:30 am, the opening ceremony officially started at the Student Activity Center on East Campus, and YSU President Zhao Dingxuan gave a speech. He emphasized the importance of cultivating high-quality talents from the aspects of university development, scientific research, talent training, and serving the society. He encouraged the majority of graduate students to seize the opportunity of academic exchanges, participate in the academic communication actively. After the opening ceremony, relevant leaders, experts and postgraduates reporting on the forum took a group photo.
At 9:05 am, in the main forum of the conference, five experts made high-level keynote speeches. Professor Zhang Lifeng of Yanshan University gave a report entitled "Cleaning, Precision and Homogenization Metallurgical Technology of High Quality Steel Materials". The impact of high-quality steel performance was reported. The content was simple and concise, which arouse a deep thinking in the participants. Professor Xu Bing from Zhejiang University gave a report entitled "Large Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Robots", which was clear and thorough, and it was highly practical and research-oriented.

At 13:30 pm, the sub-forum was held in the fourth teaching building of the East Campus. Based on the papers submitted by the forum, the expert group of the forum carefully selected 64 postgraduate graduate students as the reporting guests. They gave wonderful reports on their own research topics and interacted with the questions raised by the on-site judges and the audience. In the end, the jury group selected 18 outstanding paper awards and 12 best presenters.

At 17:45 pm, the closing ceremony of the forum was held in Room 108, No. 4 Teaching Building of the East Campus. Dong Guojiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Dean Peng Yan presented awards to the winners. Peng Yan made a closing speech. On behalf of the college, he thanked the teachers and students and staff who participated in the forum and congratulated the winners. He proposed that the school will build a three-dimensional academic exchange system, plan a biennial international academic forum, an annual spring industrial development forum and an autumn high-end doctoral academic forum, and an annual department-specific independent academic exchange system plan inspired by special funds.
