[News from News Center] On May 22nd, YSU Figure Rope Skipping team, after two-day heated competition, won 13 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 15 bronze medals in 2016-2017 National Skipping League. Huaiqi Bu and Xiaohui Li ranked the first inSingle Rope Freestyle Primary-level Race of Men and Women’s groups respectively; Zhongjie Zheng and Yushu Fu ranked the first in Single Rope Freestyle Medium-level Race of Men and Women’s groups respectively; Xin Sheng and Meitong Liu ranked the first in the Women’s Wheel Skipping Senior-level Race; Yan Zhao and Yushu Fu ranked the firstin the Women’s Wheel Skipping Medium-level Race; Xin Sheng and Pengyan Ma rankedthe first in Synchronized Pair Skipping Primary-level Race; Erke Lüand Xuekai Zong ranked the first in Synchronized Pair Skipping Senior-level Race; Liwei Qiu, Shendong Xu and Zhifang Wang ranked the first in the Threesome Double Dutch Freestyle Primary-level Race. YSU Figure Rope Skipping Team won the second prize in Grand Exhibition Games.
YSU Figure Rope Skipping Team Scored High Again in 2016-2017 National Skipping League

As the qualification stage of 2018 World Rope Skipping Championships, this league was highly emphasized by YSU. Led by Assistant Dean of the School of Physical Education Meng Zhao and coaches Jun Zhu and Yawei Wang, a total of 23 players entered into the competition. YSU players won the hearts of the audience and the referees with their solid basic skills, exquisite movements, and high degree of difficulty. After the competition, Yingmin Cai, Executive Secretary of the National Rope Promotion Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, highly praised the excellent performances of YSU Figure Rope Skipping team, and expressed his wish that YSU team make persistent efforts to be the model in nationwide rope skipping.
Sponsored by China Leisure Sports Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), and China School Sports Federation (CSSF), 2016-2017 National Skipping League was held in the sports center of Zoucheng, Shandong Province. In recent years, figure rope skipping has gained its popularity. After years of training and performing, YSU team has performed in Tsinghua University, Nankai University and Shenzhen University, bridging the universities with YSU. Besides, YSU Figure Rope Skipping Team has won many awards at international and domestic competitions. In 2015, YSU was honored by the General Administration of Sports of China as the pilot university of“National Traditional Rope Skipping Program”and“National Rope Skipping Plan for Heart Health”.
