YSU Debate Team Achieved Excellent Results in Provincial and Municipal Debates

[News from News Center] Recently, YSU Debate Team, on behalf of YSU, participated in Hebei Province College Students Cyber Security Debate and won Second Prize; Qinhuangdao College Students AIDS Prevention & Control Publicity Debate and won First Prize & Outstanding Organization Award respectively. Jiang Liu and Xiruo Yan were awarded Best Debater in the two Debates.

At Hebei College Students Cyber Security Debate hosted by Hebei University of Engineering on Sep. 23^rd, YSU Debate Team, coached by teacher Li Li, won the Second Prize; and Jiang Liu was awarded the Best Debater. The Debate was sponsored by Hebei Office of Cyberspace, Hebei Communist Youth League, and hosted by Communist Youth League Handan Committee and Hebei University of Engineering, aiming to strengthen the cyber security education among teenagers especially college students, guide college students to be good citizens, and contribute to healthy cyberspace.

On Sep. 28^th, Qinhuangdao College Students AIDS Prevention & Control Publicity Debate sponsored by Qinhuangdao AIDS Working Committee Office was held at Hebei University of Environmental Engineering. Led by Xiaofang Yang from Communist Youth League YSU Committee, debaters of YSU Debate Team prepared well and cooperated tacitly and won First Prize and Outstanding Organization Award. Xiruo Yan was honored the Best Debater. YSU Debate Team will compete in Hebei Province College Students AIDS Prevention & Control Publicity Debate on behalf of Qinhuangdao City. The Debate helped publicize AIDS prevention knowledge and improve students’ awareness of AIDS prevention, thus reaching a unity of skill improvement, publicity, learning and discussion.

Debate enriches students’ culture life and also shows their comprehensive quality. The heated verbal battle not only challenges their knowledge and competence, but also brings self-perfection through critical thinking. The process of debate can cultivate teamwork spirit; improve critical thinking skills, language logic and positive attitude of young students.
