[News from News Center] Several days ago, the award ceremony for Esurfing Prize under Scholarship of China Telecom and the sharing session of “Advanced Individual Pacesetter Practicing Socialist Core Values”, hosted by Chinese Communist Youth League Central Committee and China Telecommunications Corporation, was held in Beijing. Ziyu Hu from YSU School of Electrical Engineering won the Esurfing Prize under Scholarship of China Telecom and “Advanced Individual Pacesetter Practicing Socialist Core Values”.

Four representatives out of 1711 awardees nationwide were invited to share their experiences. Ziyu Hu, themed by “Moral, Learned, and Truth-seeking”, told his deeds, life experience, and his understanding of socialist core values. The award ceremony and the sharing session was on live broadcast nationwide through microblog of School of Chinese Communist Youth League Central Committee,www.youth.cn, qnzs.youth.cn and other platforms.

Ziyu Hu, developing in an all-around way, is the only one awardee in Hebei Province and an advanced model of YSU students. Since his enrollment, Ziyu Hu successively served as monitor, secretary-general of the Graduate Student Union of School of Electrical Engineering, and Deputy Secretary of YSU Communist Youth League Committee. His dedication and passion were widely praised among teachers and fellow students. He studied hard and had an outstanding academic performance, always ranking the First in the comprehensive assessment of class during his master-doctor continuous study. He has published 4 SCI papers and many papers on Chinese core journals, hosted 1 Hebei Graduate Innovation Subsidy Program, and won the state scholarship and first-class academic scholarship. Besides, Hu actively engaged in innovation and entrepreneurship, and he is the Third Prize winner of China College Student' Entrepreneurship Competition, First Prize winner of KBA National College Students Micro Entrepreneurship, and Third Prize winner of the 2ndChina College Students’ “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. His entrepreneurship program was reported on China Youth Daily.
The Scholarship by China Telecom and “Advanced Individual Pacesetter Practicing Socialist Core Values” can be dated back to 2014, aiming to carry out the spirit of important speeches by General Secretary Jinping Xi and cultivate the core values of socialism among college students. Since its initiation in May, 50 students have won the Esurfing Prize under Scholarship of China Telecom and “Advanced Individual Pacesetter Practicing Socialist Core Values”; and 1661 won the Young Prize under Scholarship of China Telecom and “Advanced Individual Practicing Socialist Core Values” after college, provincial and national evaluation and assessment.
