YSU Vice President Fucheng Zhang addressed the opening ceremony. He pointed out that the demand for talent training was expanding as the Belt and Road Initiative and Double First-class construction were put forward. International awareness and vision, cross-cultural understanding and communication competence have been the universal standards for high-level international talents. Thus, all departments of YSU, in various highly effective ways, have created a sound condition for YSU internationalization construction. This year, YSU took teachers & students studying abroad programs as the key work to promote. By positively taking relevant measures and opening channels, the number of teachers & students studying abroad gained a geometric growth. About 100 teachers and students were admitted by overseas universities or formally dispatched in the first half year of 2017. Vice President Zhang encouraged students to embrace the world and pursue their dreams. He said that choosing to study abroad, to some extent, means choosing a higher position, brilliance and excellence because studying abroad enabled students to broaden their horizons, obtain professional knowledge and strengthen their skills. More importantly, students will learn to think independently, understand different cultures, respect international rules, get along with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and handle problems under complex conditions.
