[News from News Center] On Nov. 10th, Meeting of Council and Advisory Committee under Hebei Advanced Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute was held in Qinhuangdao, which is also the 2017 Annual Conference. Nearly 50 people attended the meeting, including: Tielin Yang, Vice Mayor of Qinhuangdao; Weidong Guo, Researcher of Science and Technology Platform Construction and Basic Research Office under Hebei Science and Technology Department; Hongmin Liu, President of YSU; leaders of co-construction unit of Hebei Advanced Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute, and representatives from relevant enterprises and scientific research institutes in the field of equipment manufacturing inside and outside the province including CRRC Tangshan Co., Ltd. The conference was hosted by Xiangdong Kong, Director of the Hebei Advanced Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute and Vice President of YSU.

At the conference, Hongmin Liu briefly introduced the basic situation of the Institute and YSU on behalf of YSU, the supporting unit of the Institute. On behalf of Qinhuangdao Municipal Government, Tielin Yang introduced the unique advantages of Qinhuangdao in promoting scientific and technological innovation and industrial development. From the perspective of provincial science and technology innovation system and regional economic development strategy, Weidong Guo stressed that Industry Technology Research Institute is a new type of science and technology innovation platform established in our province following key laboratories and engineering centers. We should actively explore and summarize the mechanism and experience of scientific and technological innovation and achievement transform, and make contribution to the development of equipment manufacturing industry in our province.

Subsequently, Huagui Huang, Director of the Advanced Equipment Industry Technology Research Center of YSU, made a summary report on the construction achievements of the Institute to the leaders, experts and business representatives attending the conference, and introduced in detail the relevant work and achievements since the establishment of the Institute. Representatives of the Institute respectively reported excellent research results on various aspects of heavy equipment, material processing, remote control, information processing and medical applications.The results were well received by the leaders and experts. Some enterprises showed great interest in the related research results and hoped to discuss with the research team in depth so as to achieve cooperation.
At the meeting of the Council and Advisory Committee in the afternoon, all delegates first discussed and approved the list of recommended members of the new Council and Advisory Committee. Subsequently, the members summarized the results of the co-construction and cooperation of the Institute in the previous phase and proposed the tasks and targets respectively for the next step. They also stressed the need to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation so as to achieve "convergence between schools and enterprises." Experts of Advisory Committee affirmed the construction achievements of the Institute and provided valuable suggestions for the future research directions and development strategies. Professor Zongxia Jiao, Dean of the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Director of the Advisory Committee pointed out in his concluding remarks that YSU had significant advantages in the field of advanced equipment manufacturing industry. The Institute should make bold innovations in terms of evaluation standards and operation mechanism, continue to expand the coverage of technical services and the participation of industry and enterprises, focus on finding and resolving key common problems in the industry and have its own characteristics and level to be a model in Hebei industry technology research institutes.

After listening to the speeches made by members, Xiangdong Kong on behalf of the Institute, said that it’s in the efforts of all the experts and members of the co-construction unit that the Institute can achieve the current results. In the future, the Institute should strive to "explore new mechanisms, explore new directions, expand to new areas and seek new convergences", continue to make use of the system of the Council and Advisory Committee, maintain and continue in-depth cooperation and exchange with all co-construction units in dealing with and making use of the new scientific and technological innovation model of integration of industry, university and research. It will thoroughly implement the spirit of the "19th CPC National Congress": Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind and keep moving forward. What’s more, it will further improve the work of the Institute, make contributions to promoting the transformation and upgrading of the equipment industry, improving quality and increasing efficiency, and realizing supply-side structural reform.
