[News from News Center] On Nov. 12th, instructed by Hebei Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science and held by Hebei New Think Tank - Hebei Design Innovation and Industrial Development Research Center, the Foundation Ceremony of Hebei Design Innovation and Industrial Development Research Center (Think Tank) was held at YSU. Xinbin Lü- member of Publicity Department of the CPC Hebei Province Committee and Associate Counsel, Lixiao Hao - Deputy Director-general and Party member of Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province, Hongmin Liu – YSU President, Xiangdong Kong – YSU Vice President and other leaders attended the ceremony. Besides, over 50 scholars and leaders from institutions, universities, research institutes were invited including Publicity Department of the CPC Hebei Province Committee, Hebei Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, CPC Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee Research Office, Tsinghua University, China Academy of Art, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, Wuhan University of Technology, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Shandong Polytechnic University, Kyungpook National University (South Korea), Xihua University, and Beijing Jiaotong University.

The Center (Think Tank) & forum which aims to implement the guidelines from the 19thNCCPC, is committed to the research design of innovative strategies, regional innovation and development of industrial innovation and other fields, focusing on the transformation of industrial upgrading in Hebei Province. Facing the major strategic needs in Hebei province, we will carry on continuous research that is global, innovative and regional, and are ready to undertake Hebei emergent projects in related fields, providing scientific decision-making for the Hebei industry transformation and upgrading, the design industry development in the Xiongan New Area, and the design for targeted poverty alleviation, and providing support for solving the significant practical issues with innovative theory.
Foundation Ceremony of the Center (Think Tank) & International Summit Forum on Design Innovation
Xinbin Lüand Hongmin Liu inaugurated the Center (Think Tank).
During the forum, Guoqiang Chen, the Director of the Center (Think Tank), introduced the previous work of the Center (Think Tank) and its main tasks in future to the leaders and experts. Leaders from Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province and YSU fully affirmed the previous work of the Center and the achievements of YSU School of Arts and Design especially. Invited experts discussed the design industry development in the Xiongan New Area, the role of the industrial design in Hebei industry transformation and upgrading, and the national strategic design for targeted poverty alleviation from their own professional perspective, which provided theoretical support for promoting Hebei industry transformation and upgrading and enriching the design theory.

After the release of the Notice of Policy and Measures to Support the Development of Industrial Design by Hebei People’s Government, this summit forum is another grand event in the field of design and innovation under the background of Hebei industry transformation and upgrading, which based on the industrial foundation and design status of Hebei province, insists on the government guidance, focuses on the academic role and fosters the pluralistic support force.
