YSU Debate Team won First Prize in AIDS Prevention Debate for College Students in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

[News from News Center]On Nov. 25th, the final of AIDS Prevention Debate for college Students in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region was held in Beijing, in which 6 teams competed. YSU Debate Team and Beijing Normal University Debate Team debated heatedly on whether the publicity and education direction of AIDS should particularly emphasize on warning hazards or calming fears. YSU debate team won the First Prize by a score of 7:2.

Communist Youth League YSU Committee has been thinking highly of the education on university students’ youth and health for a long time. YSU publicized the concept of youth and health through campus broadcasting, bulletin board and posters as well as organizing youth and health knowledge competition, youth salon, health lectures and a series of activities. The AIDS prevention and control knowledge was publicized around the campus, which laid a solid foundation for the success in the competition. YSU Debate Team entered the final by ranking 1stin Qinhuangdao, 4thin Hebei province and TOP6 in qualification competition of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. This competition fully presented YSU students’ positive spirit and the elegant demeanor of adopting different strength. Meantime, it also enhanced the reputation and influence of YSU in China and embodied the achievements of colorful campus culture.

The competition was known to be sponsored by AIDS Working Committee Offices of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, which was one of the theme activities about the 30thWorld AIDS Day. It aimed at encouraging contemporary college students to share the responsibility on AIDS prevention, health right and the construction of healthy China.
