[News from the news center] On May 17, Guo Yuming, Deputy Director ofHebei Science and Technology Department (HEBSTD), led the research group of the “The study on the approaches of promoting scientific and technological innovation and talent Strategy” composed of relevant personnel fromHEBSTD,Hebei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security(HEBPDHRSS),Hebei Provincial Department of Intelligence Research, and Hebei Geo University (HEBGU) to visit YSU. The research group accompanied by relevant leaders from QHD Science and Technology Bureau and Bureau of Human Resources & Social Security of QHD carried out the research work at YSU. Liu Hongmin, President of YSU met with the research group. Zhang Fucheng, Vice President of YSU and relevant directors from Science and Technology Research Institute, the Personnel Department, the Technology Transfer Center, National Science Area of YSU, and Industrial Group attended the survey symposium.

Guo Yuming introduced the purpose of the survey which is in accordance with the Provincial Party Committee's Guidance "Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving the work of Investigation and Research Work" and "Hebei Province's Three-Year Action Plan for Science and Technology Innovation (2018-2020)" and the General Requirements for the Construction of a New Era for Innovative Hebei Province. The research activities were initiated to fulfill the work proposed by “Research on Promoting Scientific and Technological Innovation and Talent Strategy”. He hoped that the staff who participated in the symposium could emancipate their minds, express their opinions freely, and seek truth from facts, reflect on the problems and difficulties encountered in the work, and put forward suggestions for related work.

Zhang Fucheng, on behalf of YSU, welcomed the research group and thanked the provincial government and related departments for their continuous support for all the work at YSU. He pointed out some challenges and difficulties faced in the maturity of scientific and technological achievements, the reciprocal match between supply and demand, the degree of Political-Industrial-Teaching-Research integration, and the role of talents in leading science and technology innovation. Some related suggestions have been made in the areas of Political-Industrial-Teaching-Research integration and the layout of Hebei Province’s key areas for technological innovation in the next 10 years. Subsequently, some directors in charge of the relevant departments put forward some challenges and difficulties encountered in scientific and technological innovation, platform construction, talent introduction, innovation and entrepreneurship, business development, and achievement transformation.
After listening to the reports, Guo Yuming fully affirmed the research meeting, and said that the research team would brought the suggestions and opinions collected at YSU to the relevant leaders. He spoke highly of the development of YSU in recent years. At the same time, it also put forward three opinions: First, it is hoped that YSU could take advantage of the opportunities of coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the construction of Xiong'an New District, and Olympic Winter Games to explore YSU’s potentials. It is expected that the greater development of YSU will provides strong support to the technological innovation and personnel training for Hebei Province. Second, he hoped that YSU would take the initiative to carry out some work in the evaluation of human resources in terms of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and explore new models and methods in order to formulate a comprehensive evaluation system. Third, it is hoped that YSU will seize the opportunity of double-first rate construction and further improve the development of YSU, and relevant support would be given byHEBSTD and otherrelevant departments.
