[News from the news center] From May 7 to 15, the Fifth Chinese University Student Sunshine Volleyball Championship was held in Sichuan Province. After a nine-day fierce competition, YSU’s Men’s Volleyball team over-achieved the desired goal and achieved national fifth prize which is the best result we have ever had, and this is also the best result of Hebei universities had in terms of Men’s Volleyball competition.

This competition is sponsored by the China University Student Sports Association, the China University Student Sports Association Volleyball Branch, and hosted by Langzhong City government. The competition attracted a total of 30 undergraduate teams from Zhejiang University, Xiamen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and Sun Yat-sen University, and more than 500 athletes participated in the competition.
YSU Men's Volleyball team is headed by Wang Dapeng, Dean of the School of Physical Education and coach Sun Tao. During the competition, YSU Men's Volleyball team faced strong teams from peer universities across the country but they were not afraid of strong opponents. They were fighting following the coach Sun Tao’s guidance and tactics, because of which the situation was gradually improved. The Men's Volleyball team lost the game when competed with Dalian Ocean University in the group match and entered the final 16 as the second group. In the 16-to-8 elimination match, YSU team defeated the team of Shanxi Agricultural University with the result of 3:0. In the 8-for-4 elimination match, due to the mental instability, YSU lost it to the championship team Wuhan University, in the 5 to 8 match, we defeated Henan University. We defeated the Men's Volleyball team from Dalian University with 3-0 in the group match, and finally we won the fifth place.
Recalling the performance of the YSU Men's Volleyball team in the game, the team members carried forward YSU's self-improvement and hard-working spirit and achieved an impressive record. After the competition, volleyball team will earnestly sum up the experiences, continue to work hard in order to improve the technical and tactical level of the team. The team aims the national championship and will work for it.
