YSU holds 2018 Chinese and Korean Cello Concert –Academic Exchange

[News from the News Center] On the evening of June 15, the famous Korean cellist Professor Jin Huting and YSU Associate Professor Song Jun, together with Chinese and Korean students, organized the “2018 Chinese and Korean Cello Concert – Academic Exchange” at YSU in the Concert Hall of the School of Art and Design. Meng Weidong, YSU Party Secretary and Yang Xiaofeng, Party Secretary of Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics, among others, watched the concert together.

Concert performance

The concert is a Sino-Korean academic exchange activity, which aimed at promoting international exchange, featuring professional characteristics, and promoting teacher professionalism. The work performed in this concert was jointly composed and designed by Prof. Jin Huting and Xu Qiujien, Chen Hongyu, and Song Jun, and performed by Chinese and Korean cello students. The musical works involve highly professional and artistically appreciated operas -- “Figaro's Wedding” Overture, Requiem, Bach Unaccompanied Suite “The Third Suite”, Haydn Cello Concerto in C major, and Pole-Polka among other works. The North Korean folk song “Arirang” adapted by Song Jun as a commemorative song for Professor Jin Huting brought this concert to a climax.

The 2018 YSU Chinese and Korean Cello Concert—Academic Exchange is a great music event which reflected the high artistic attainments of the two universities. It is also a good form of enhancing the influence and charisma of the music disciple in both universities. This concert will significantly help the School of Art and Design, particularly, in promoting the international communications and building an international educational environment.
