[News from the News Center] On June 12, six YSU international students from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Guinea went to Bihai Yuntian Community on the Wenhua Road, Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City to experience the Dragon Boat Festival customs such as learning how to make Zongzi (Rice dumplings) and sachets.

Zhang Li, Deputy Director of the community, introduced the origins of the Dragon Boat Festival customs for students, and invited the community residents to teach students to make Zongzi. The students followed the residents from folding leaves, filling rice and stuffing, andwrapping with stringsto the final form. Finally these students all made their satisfying Zongzi. Afterwards, they also learned to make sachets under the guidance of Zhang Li and community residents. Both the international students and residents enjoy this activity, which forge links of friendship between them.
