Italian Dante High School Delegation visits YSU

[News from the News Center] On the morning of July 24, Ms. Oliva Quasimodo, President of Dante High School, Italy, and Professor Gao Xu, Head of Chinese Teaching, visited our university. Vice President Zhang Fucheng met with the guests and held talks. The relevant officials of the International Cooperation Office and the International Education College attended the meeting.

翻译时出错During the talks, Zhang Fucheng welcomed the visit of Oliva Quasimodo and the delegation on behalf of YSU. He introduced YSU’s basic situation, highlighting a series of important scientific researches in the fields of super-hard materials, parallel robots, heavy equipment and high-speed railways. Oliva Quasimodo introduced the history of Dante High School including geography, scale, and student development. She highly appreciated YSU’s achievements in various fields and expressed willingness to conduct international exchanges and cooperation with our university. During the talks, Zhang Fucheng expressed gratitude to President Oliva Quasimodo for his efforts in promoting Chinese language and culture, and said that the school will set up a special scholarship for Dante high school students, which is specially used to fund the Dante High School students who study at YSU.

The two parties signed a cooperation memorandum

After the meeting, Zhang Fucheng and Oliva Quasimodo signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two parties. After signing the agreement, YSU will become a Chinese language training and practice base for the students of the Dante High School Confucius Classroom, and become a Dante high school student to study in China or short-term Chinese studies. The signing of this agreement marks that the two sides will enter a stage of substantive cooperation. At present, our university has received two batches of summer camps for more than 40 students from Dante High School. The overseas students have expressed a strong interest in Chinese language and culture and the desire to continue learning Chinese language.
