YSU wins awards in the Chinese College Student Intelligent Design Competition

[News from the News Center] Recently, the 8th China University Students Intelligent Design Competition Finals was held at Guilin University of Electronic Technology. The two postgraduate teams under the supervision of Prof. Wen Shuhuan from YSU’s School of Electrical Engineering both entered the national finals and won the national second prize. The works of the two teams are "Nao Robot Arm Autonomous Control" (Team leader: Chen Jianhua; members: Zhang Di, Hu Xueheng) and "Anthropological Robot Autonomous Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm Research in Complex Environment" (Team leader: Sheng Miao; members: Yuan Xiao, Zhao Yanfang).

The Chinese College Students Intelligent Design Competition is a national college competition sponsored by the Computer-based Professional TeachingAdvisory Board under the MoEand the China Artificial Intelligence Society. Since the first competition in 2011, the competition has been held once a year and successfully held for seven times. It has achieved good results and social recognition. The 8th competition was hosted by Guilin University of Electronic Technology. The event attracted 354 teams from more than 80 colleges and universities including Peking University, Tianjin University, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, and Zhongshan University.

The Chinese College Student Intelligent Design Competition Final

The Chinese College Student Intelligent Design Competition aims to provide a broad platform for communication, development and competition for undergraduate students (including undergraduates and postgraduates), enabling university students to demonstrate their ability to use intelligent technology to analyze problem-solving, comprehensive design capabilities, innovative entrepreneurial awareness, and the spirit of teamwork. The competition promotes the exchanges between college teachers and students as well as the teaching reform in intelligence and related subjects in higher education insomuch as students' practical ability would be enhanced.
