YSU MBA students won awards in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei MBA Entrepreneurship Competition

[News from the News Center]On the afternoon of October 14, the first Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei MBA postgraduate students (professional degree program) Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter Entrepreneurship Planning Competition) was held by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Hebei Provincial Education Department. YSU’s 2017 MBA students Guo Wenlong, Liu Xinzhuo, Wang Longlong, Cao Yuan, Zhang Zhaonan and others’five entries “Selecting Quality Agricultural Products” won the second prize. Prof. Zhang Jingwei won the Best Instructor and YSU won the Best Organization Award. .

The Entrepreneurship Planning Competition aims to comprehensively implement the fundamental tasks of education in the new era, particularly to enhance students' professional academic ability, management and ability, and innovative thinking ability, which can strengthen the in-depth exchange and cooperation of postgraduate education in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

The competition is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final, which lasted for five and a half months. The preliminary competition was completed by the divisions of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. In the preliminary stage, 71 entries were received, involving 33 colleges and universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. A total of 6 YSU teams submitted the preliminary entries. After the rigorous evaluation by experts from Hebei Province, YSU MBA student Guo Wenlong’s project won the first prize of Hebei Province and recommended to the finals.

In the final, six experts and judges of the industry from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region were invited to review 22 works. In the first round of competition, Guo Wenlong, the project leader of the “Selectiing Quality Agricultural Products” team, gave a demonstration and respond to judges' oral defense. Guo Wenlong explained key issues in the industry -- target customers, solutions, profit models and key value activities by answering three questions -- “Who We Are”, “Why We Do It” and “How Do We Do It”. The reviewers gave YSU team positive comments and finally, Guo Wenlong team successfully advanced to the top 10 and entered the finals of the second day and won the second prize. The success of this competition not only reflects the YSU’s good job in organization and schools and departments’ cooperation, but also fully demonstrates the achievements of YSU's MBA education. The competition also provided an opportunity for the YSU MBA students to interact with other universities in the region of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, which can broaden their horizons and improve their creativity.
