[News from the News Center] On November 3, the 2ndBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei Postgraduate Network and Information Security Technology Competition, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Tianjin Education Commission, and the Hebei Provincial Department of Education, was held at Beijing University of Technology. After a fierce competition, YSU team from the School of Information Science and Engineering, composing of postgraduate students Ma Yanlong, Yuan Jing and Xu Xiaodong, won the First Prize, Wang Changwu received the award of Excellent Instructor, and YSU won the Outstanding Organization Award.
The competition is divided into two stages: the challenging and final competitions. There are 36 teams from 25 colleges and universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and 108 contestants participated in the competition. 12 teams including YSU were selected in the primary competition in Hebei Province, and would attend the final competition representing Hebei Province. Tsinghua University won the special prize in the final, the University of International Relations, Tianjin University, Yanshan University won the First Prize.
The competition aims to further raise the awareness of network security in postgraduate students in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei universities and develop postgraduates’ innovation and teamwork spirit in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. YSU postgraduate students’ ability of handling emergency of network security was enhanced through this competition. In the competition, YSU postgraduates’ solid network security skills were fully demonstrated in the competition, which is the result of YSU’s continuous efforts in the postgraduate education.
