[News from the News Center] From November 10-11, the expert in university student mental health education Prof. Hu Yue of Dalian University of Technology was invited to come to YSU to carry out a professional supervision of college students’ psychological counseling. The full-time psychological teachers of YSU participated in the activity.
The conference attended by psychological supervisor and psychological teachers
At the beginning of the supervision conference, Prof. Hu carried out a series of warm-up activities to create a warm, relaxed and acceptable atmosphere. After that, she invited psychological teachers to share their working experiences, understandings and methods. By summarizing the case studies, simulation, comments, and role plays, Prof. Hu provided tremendous help for the teachers, and expanded their horizons.
In view of the conceptualization of the case, Prof. Hu combines the classic therapies such as psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanism and narrative to analyze and explain the case, which is very inspiring and professional. For the ethics of consultation, she emphasizes that consulting ethics is more important than technology. In detail, she introduces how to carry out the psychological counseling work of college students under the ethical framework, how to turn the consciousness of confidentiality into professional action, how to use the informed consent form to promote the professionalization of psychological counseling. When it comes to data collection, she presents the teachers the whole process from the aspects of connotation, extension, stages and detailed operation.

Dr. Hu Yue, Director of the Mental Health Education and Counseling Center of Dalian University of Technology, is a professor and a Master supervisor at Dalian University of Technology. She is a registered supervisor of the Clinical and Counseling Psychology Working Committee of the Chinese Psychological Association. She has presided over more than 20 national and provincial projects, published 6 academic books, and 50 papers. She has very rich experience in psychological counseling case supervision, crisis intervention supervision and group counseling supervision.
