[News from the News Center] On Dec. 11, YSU President Liu Hongmin and Vice President Sheng Wanyu led a delegation to visit Fuzhou University (FZU), exchanging on the university-school two-level management and the reform on performance pay. Leaders from President Office, Academic Affairs Office, Science and Technology Research Institute, Human Resources, Financial Department, Higher Education Development Research Center, School of Electrical Engineering and School of Foreign Studies attended the meeting.
FZU President Fu Xianzhi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expressed warm welcome to Liu Hongmin and YSU delegation. They exchanged views on how to accelerate the “Double first-rate” construction and promote the innovation of higher education.

FZU Vice President Zhang Xing introduced the basic situation of FZU from university orientation, talent development, external cooperation and exchange, and detailed the experience of “performance pay” in Fuzhou University.
The heads of relevant departments of FZU and YSU delegation conducted full exchanges on how to better encourage the initiative and creativity of teachers, the general idea and practice of overall university management and the reform of performance pay system, the main achievements, problems, and key points of the reform, authorities and responsibilities of the university and its schools, management system and school running mode, classification and balance of teacher workload (teaching, research, etc.) in job performance awards, professional teaching of different schools, and number of teachers in common required courses (including postgraduate teaching), the coordination of performance payreform and the other awarding policies (including talent policy), etc.
Liu Hongmin expressed his gratitude to FZU for the warm reception and deep exchanges. He hoped that the two sides would learn from each other’s experience and further strengthen exchanges and cooperation. At the same time, YSU president hoped that the relevant departments could learn from FZU’s successful experience of reform in order to contribute to our work in terms of university management and the reform of performance pay.
