YSU receives major project funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China

20 Dec , 2018

[News from the News Center] Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the list of major projects funded by the NSFC in 2018. The project “Electrostatic Drive Actuator Additive Manufacturing Control” presided over by YSU Prof. Kong Xiangdong was funded 3.7 million yuan as major project by NSFC. The project will be completed by the joint efforts of YSU and Zhejiang University. This is a breakthrough for our university in terms of major project application.

This project is one of five topics under the NS’s major project “Basic Research on Intelligent Electrostatic Liquid Actuator”. The project is led by Zhejiang University and jointly conducted by Beihang University, Yanshan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and AVIC Jincheng Nanjing Engineering Institute of Aircraft System. The project funding amount is 19.76 million yuan and the implementation period is 5 years. The project leader is Academician Yang Huayong of Zhejiang University.

The project mainly study on the special requirements of EHA (Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator) in complex conditions such as high pressure, wide temperature range, alternating load and random strong disturbance. The study aims to integrate Selective Laser Melting (SLM) and EHA to make best use of the SLM technology in order to overcome the problems of structural optimization.

Major projects of the NSFC are facing advanced scientific issues in the forefront of science and the major needs of national economic, social, scientific and technological development and national security. It conducts multidisciplinary and comprehensive research, giving full play to the role of support and leadership, and enhancing China’s basic research ability. Undertaking the NSFC major project indicating that our university has the ability to solve major national needs and highlights YSU’s strong development momentum of science and technology innovation.
