Zhang Jiang’an from Sino-Heavymach visits YSU

[News from the News Center] On the afternoon, March 13, Zhang Jiang’an, Party Secretary and president of China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Sino-Heavymach for short), Ren Yucheng, member of the party committee anddeputy general manager of Sino-Heavymach, and other three members visited YSU and had exchanges with YSU leaders. YSU president Liu Hongmin and vice president Kong Xiangdong greeted the guests and had a symposium at the first reception room, the Century Building. Other leaders also attended the symposium including those fromAdmissions and Career Services Office, Science and Technology Research Institute,School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering,National Engineering Research Center forEquipment and Technology of Cold Strip Rolling, and National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment.

At the symposium, Liu Hongmin expressed warm welcome to Zhang Jiangan and his delegation on behalf of YSU. He points out that Sino-Heavymach and YSU have always maintained good cooperation in scientific research and many well-known alumni of YSU work at Sino-Heavymach. Liu notes that Sino-Heavymach has undertaken many national major projects over the years with its great strength and profound background and hopes that both sides will continue to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation and personnel exchanges based on projects. Subsequently, Kong Xiangdong introduced the general situation and recent achievements in scientific research to the guests.Kong stresses that YSU is eager to carry out in-depth cooperation with suchan enterprise with rich front-line technology and market experience as Sino-Heavymach and hopes to jointly establish a university-enterprise cooperation mechanism in the new situation and the new era through top-level design, long-term planning, communication and cooperation.

Zhang Jiang’an said that YSU and Sino-Heavymach shared a close relationship. Theyshared “Heavy Machinery” in their former names, and they both contributed a lot to the “heavy machinery”undertakingsin the early days since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Since that time, YSU and Sino-Heavymach have fostered extensive cooperation in independent innovation, talent cultivation and industry-education integration, during which the two sides developedprofoundfriendship. Zhang expressed that this time they came for three purposes: first, to observe the latest directionsand achievements of YSU scientific research;second, to express thanks to YSU for cultivating talents for Sino-Heavymach for many years; and, third, to establish a better and deeper cooperation mechanism with the YSU to complement each other’s advantages and to achieve win-win cooperation.

At the symposium, the two sides also conducted in-depth discussions, according to their owncondition, on how to use high-tech and deep-level cooperation in technological innovation, project traction, talent exchange and platform support.

After the symposium, Zhang Jiang’an and his delegation visited the National Engineering Research Center forEquipment and Technology of Cold Strip Rolling, and the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment, and exchanged views on the scientific research being jointly carried out by the two sides.

China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (SINO-HEAVYMACH for short) was founded in Beijing in 1956; in 1961, it was moved to Xi’an, called Xi’an Heavy Machinery Research Institute, as the member of State Ministry of Machinery Industry; in 1999, it was fully owned by China National Machinery Industry Corporation after turning into a science and technology enterprise; in 2006, the corporation was renamed as China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute, at its 50th anniversary; and in 2012, it was restructured into China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd., approved by State Council. Sino-Heavymach is now an innovative high-tech enterprise for the technology research and development, design and process engineering of integrated equipment of China’s metallurgy, heavy equipment manufacturing and other industries.
