YSU holds the 3rd competition and meeting for student proposal

[News from the News Center] At 14:30, Apr. 11, YSU the 3rdcompetition and meeting for student proposal was held at Room 209, Student Center, East Campus. Leaders from YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League, Academic Affairs Office, Safety Guard Office, Library, Logistics Group, etc. were invited as judges. After heated competition, the team from School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering won the first prize; the teams from School of Mechanical Engineering and from School of Vehicle and Energy won the second prize; the teams from School of Materials Science and Engineering, from School of Humanities and Law, and from School of Information Science and Engineering won the third prize.

After the preliminary and semi-final competitions, 10 teams entered the final. This proposals covered students’ life, campus safety, campus resources, and management of the university, includingproperty securityfor students, visual management of the charging electrobile, ensuring safe and efficient trip withreal-time location and departure frequency on app “Campus Daily”, setting up an infirmary on the East Campus, lockers at the playgrounds,and signal lights at the T-junction of Yandong Road, arranging different types of reading rooms,and making full use of existing resources to create a different learning and living atmosphere for students. All participating teams described the various aspects of space utilization, infrastructure improvement, and creation of new rules, and made a speech for the construction of YSU. Chen Zheng, president of the Student Union, made a summary of this competition and meeting. After the initial evaluation of each school, a total of 70 proposals entered the competition, involving 10,000 students. The competition enhancednot only the enthusiasm of students to participate in the democratic management of the university, but also their sense of responsibility and their ability to find, think about and solve problems.

After the presentation of each proposal, Zhang Wenchao, general manager of the Logistics Group, and Chen Hui, deputy director of the Safety Guard Office, exchanged ideas with the students. They affirmed the enthusiasm of the students to participate in the campus construction and made recommendations for improvement ofthe proposals, from which the students benefit tremendously. This event was hosted by the YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League and held by the YSU Student Union. The 10 proposals that entered the finals were made through in-depth an research and numerous revisions and revisions. Jointly held by the “big hand” of YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League the “small hand” its members, it was just like a micro version of the “Two Sessions”. Students were given a chance to practice in researching and writing proposals, and improve their ability to make suggestions, which makes the campus a beautiful place.
