[News from the News Center] At 19:00, Apr. 14, YSU’s 14th host competition ended at Room 109, Student Center, East Campus. After 3 rounds, XueRunze from the School of Vehicle and Energy won the first prize, Yang Sitong from the School of Humanities and Law the second prize, and Huang Jianglong from the School of Mechanical Engineering the third prize. Besides, Zhao Yaning from the School of Foreign Studies won the best popularity award.

After the preliminary and semi-final selections, ten competitors brought a wonderful audio-visual feast for the guests and the audience, which was divided into three rounds. The finals began in the song “The Pride of the Teenagers” and the dance “I Believe”. In the first round of the hostsimulation, ten competitors presented vivid scene with a solid host of skills, delicate and full of emotions. Ranging from modern heroes to the wandering writers, from local customs and practicesto film and television works, from the banks of the Wujiang River to the sports arena, they all made the audience deeply touched. In the second part of the talent show, the dances of different styles, the beautiful songs, the collision of Chinese and Western musical instruments, and the magnificent opera performances highlighted the rich imagination and amazing creativity of the students in the new era. In last round, the ten competitors are divided into five groups to debate in group of two. The topics were thought provoking and impressive such as “whether or not a travel needs to be planned”,“whether or not classic film and television dramas should be reproduced”, and “whether or not the moments on WeChatshould be open to parents”.The competitors, performed well with excellent language expression and great instant reaction, which won the applause of the audience. The judges gave comments on the outstanding performance of each group, and put forward many opinions, expressing their appreciation and high expectations for the competitors. At the awards ceremony, Zhang Yang presented awards to the prize-winners.
