[News from the News Center] On Apr. 12, hosted by Hebei Federation of Social Science Circles (HBSSC), 2019 Hebei Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Research Base working meeting was held at YSU, Qinhuangdao. Cao Baogang, member of the Party group, vice director and vice executive chairman of Hebei Federation of Social Science Circles attended the meeting among other 38 leaders and experts from the research base. The meeting was presided over by Chen Xiuping, director of the Scientific Results Management Office, Hebei Federation of Social Science Circles.
Before the meeting, Zhao Xianfeng, YSU Party Secretary, met with Cao Baogang and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on the development of humanities and social sciences in YSU.
At the meeting, Huang Sheng, YSU vice president, gave a welcome speech. He extended warm welcome to the leaders and representatives and expressedgratitude to THebei Federation of Social Science Circles for their support over the years. Huang introduced the research and development of YSU in recent years, especially new breakthroughs and achievements in the social sciences. Later, Chen Xiuping took the lead in studying the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping visiting CPPCC members from the literary and art circles and from the scientific community. The 13 research bases reported their work in 2018 and plan for 2019fromthe “11245” requirements of the bases, the disciplinary development, and the industry competitiveness.

Cao Baogang commented on their reports, and affirmed the work of each base in 2018. He hoped that members of the research base could make full use of the platform of theHebei Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Research Base, and follow General Secretary Xi’s guidelines, continue to do a good job in the construction of the research base, improve the level of scientific research, serve discipline construction, and give feedback to teaching. Later, Cao Baogang issued certificates and commemorative plates for the Hebei Vocational Education Research Base, Hebei Ecological Civilization Construction and County Economic Development Research Base, and Hebei Bohai Sea Region Development Research Base, which have come to normal operation.
