The National Continuing Education Base for Technical Professionals is one of the key projects of the knowledge renewal programs for technical professionals and it serves as a platform to train high-level, urgently needed and key technical professionals in China. In 2018, YSU was approved to set up a national continuing education base for technical professionals and got a lump-sum special subsidy of 3.08 million yuan from the central government. In 2019, YSU was approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security for advanced research project of knowledge renewal programs for technical professionals.
The daily work and training of the continuing education base is in the charge of the School of Continuing Education. In the past three years, it has undertaken more than 100 non-degree education trainings for intelligent manufacturing and provincial cadres, taxation, banking system, etc., and trained more than 5,000 high-level students. The base is proved to achieve certain social and economic benefits.
Carrying out non-degree education is an important task required by the 13thFive-Year Plan of YSU. In the future, the School of Continuing Education will make full use of the disciplines and location advantages of the university, give full play to the base in cultivating middle and senior technical professionals, improving their ability and quality, and promoting the team construction. Besides, the School will lead “National Machinery Industry and Education Collaborative Innovation Base” and “YSU Health and Training Center” to rapid development, and continuously increase the scale and quality of non-degree education. With focus on the high-quality products, the base aims to improve quality and efficiency for non-degree education.
