[News from the News Center] On April 20-21, at 11:00, the two-day Yanshan Universitypreliminary competitionfor 3rdgourmet festivalwas held in the Yanming Lake canteen of the East Campus and the dining hall of the West Campus. A total of 50 students from the East and West campuses served as the food judges for this preliminary competition. After fierce competition in the two preliminary rounds, the old Beijing fruit wood roast duck from the East Yanming Lake canteen, the Fengwei shrimp in the Chinese fast food restaurant and the Guangzhou crispy roast duck won the top three of East campus. The fried chicken chops from the Xijinjia Restaurant from the West campus, the Hong Kong-style desserts from the Darongshu Restaurant, and the Dongpo pork leg were the top three of West campus.

The competition has not yet officially started, there have been multitude of students waiting and looking forward to trying the food. Under the fine craftsmanship of the canteen masters, the food in the competition attracted students. The fried chicken seemed crispy and tender, the roast duck is ruddy, fat but not greasy; the Dongpo pork leg is soft smell nice; the phoenix shrimp is thick and crispy; glutinous rice and fruit complements each other in the glutinous rice fruit dish. After an hour of tasting, the students finished all their food to prove their love for the food festival.
