Yanshan University held the 15th Lanting Calligraphy Exhibition

[News from the News Center] At 9:30 am on April 27, “Inheriting May Fourth, Revitalizing China”, the opening ceremony of the 15th Lanting Calligraphy Exhibition of Yanshan University Calligraphy Association was held in YSU Student Activity Center, East Campus. Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Qiao Haiguang, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association and Wang Xiwu, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman of the Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association, and Pan Lei, Deputy Secretary General of the Harbour District Calligraphy Association and Director of the Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association, was invited to attend the event. The Lanting Calligraphy Exhibition was hosted by the CYLYSU Committee and hosted by the YSU Calligraphy Association.

At the opening ceremony, Qiao Haiguang gave a profound analysis of the synchronicity between calligraphy and the Chinese society. The calligraphy works of YSU students are displayed in the exhibition hall. Students’ works all expressed their unique styles. This calligraphy exhibition also exhibited some engraved works, and the engraving works were vigorous and powerful. The student representatives of the Calligraphy Association also carried out seal engraving at the event site, presenting the art of calligraphy in front of the students through the form of engraving, and spreading the traditional Chinese calligraphy culture. Wu Fengqing, the Director of the Propaganda Department of the YSU Party Committee, and Li Xida, Secretary CYL YSU Committee, visited the calligraphy exhibition and the students’ engraving activities on the spot. They highly praised the students’ works and their love to the country.

Calligraphy and engraving are the treasures of Chinese traditional culture, symbolizing the essence of Chinese civilization and have a long history and cultural connotation. The one-week event exhibited the charm of calligraphy, promoted Chinese traditional culture, enriched the cultural life of YSU, and showed YSU students’ positive and optimistic emotions to our culture and country.
