[News from the News Center] On the afternoon, May 11, the exhibition of YSU the 14thphotography competition of Qinhuangdao university photography union opened. Lang Xiaoguang, vice chairman of Hebei Photographers Association and chairman of Qinhuangdao Photographers Association, and Wang Jing, deputy secretary general of Qinhuangdao Photographers Association and vice chairman of Women Photographers Association, were invited as judges and guests. The exhibition was hosted by YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League and held by YSU Photography Association.

The opening video showed part of the excellent photos of this competition. At the award ceremony, the eminent students were awarded prizes in three groups: “the Spring Festival atmosphere”, “YSU scenery” and “Impression of the Motherland”. YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League attaches great importance to the development of the photography association and YSU Photography Association has played an important role in promoting students’ quality and enriching the campus culture.
At the opening ceremony, Lang Xiaoguang proposed that only interest and enthusiasm for photography is far from enough. The photographers should also be good at capturing details and have a unique vision of the world. Liang hoped that more people could appreciate the charm of photography and record life and express emotions with photography.After the speech, Lang Xiaoguang announced the beginning of the photography exhibition. Pan Yunfeng, president of YSU Photography Association, showed the guests and students to visit the exhibition hall on the first floor.
On the first floor, the exhibition included the works of famous photographers, the outstanding works of this competition and the precious old photos of YSU. Some of the photos showed the wonders of natural scenery, whileothers reflected the unique charm of the human landscapes; some conveyed the feeling with bright colors, while others might seem ordinary and simple. During the visit, Lang Xiaoguang expressed his appreciation for ideas of the photos, and made comments on techniques, from which the studentsbenefited a lot.
As one of the oldest associations at YSU, the Photography Association has been following the purpose of “recording life” for 30 years and responding to the call of the university to set up distinctive cultural brands. The three themes of this competition, which represented the family, the university and the country, aimed to cultivate students to care about their family and country, to discover the beauty in life, to feel the world with their heart, and to record the wonderful moments with the cameras.
