[News from the News Center] From June 1-2, the North China College Physics Education Seminar and Youth Teacher Lecture Competition was held at YSU. The conference was hosted by the North China Regional Work Committee of the College PhysicsSteering Committeeof the Ministry of Education (referred to as College PhysicsSteering Committee) and the Hebei Provincial Physical Society. It was hosted by YSU School of Science and co-organized by Casio. Zhao Yongsheng, YSU Vice President, attended the meeting on behalf of our university and delivered a welcome speech.

The vice president of the Hebei Institute of Physics, YSU Professor Liu Yong and Professor Dong Guoyi of Hebei University have presided over two reports of the teaching seminar. Researcher Zhang Aimin from National Institute of Metrology, Prof. Zhu Shouhua from Pecking University, and Prof. Liu Yong have made wonderful reports in their fields, which were spoke highly by the attendants and attracted heated discussion.
On the afternoon of June 1, the Youth Teacher Lecture Competition was held in Room 109, the fourth teaching building of Yanshan University East Campus. Ten young teachers from ten universities in North China participated in the semi-final competition. After intense competitions, the contest selected 4 first prizes and 6 second prizes. The delegates listened carefully to the whole process of the competition. The conference provides teachers an opportunity of mutual study and exchanging ideas in teaching practice.
