YSU wins awards in the 13th National Undergraduate Chemical Design Competition

[News from the News Center] From August 20 to 23, the National Finals of the 13th National Undergraduate Chemical Design Competition was held at the North University of China. 2,196 teams from 357 universities including Tianjin University, Zhejiang University and Dalian University of Technology participated in the competition. After fierce competition, five undergraduate students from YSU School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering won the first prize.

The National Undergraduate Chemical Design Competition is the competition with the highest level in chemical industry and the most influential one. It has the largest number of participating teams. Our university attached great importance to this competition since the launching ceremony of the competition in March, students have been actively organized to register, and professional teachers and counselors gave them strong support. After five months of careful preparation, the team finally won the first prize in the national competition after a series of school competition, the Hebei provincial competition, and the finals of the North China competition.

The National Undergraduate Chemical Design Competition is sponsored by the China Chemical Industry Association, China Chemical Education Association, and the Ministry of Education Higher Education Chemicals Teaching Steering Committee. It is a national competition for undergraduates majoring in chemical engineering and related majors in domestic universities. This competition aims to cultivate college students’ innovative thinking and engineering skills, teamwork spirit, and practical ability. At the same time, the competition strengthens undergraduate’sscience and technology innovation,and university’scomprehensive quality of chemical education. It alsostrengthenedthe exchanges and cooperation of various institutions, and effectively promotedthe cultivation of chemical talents.
