[News from the News Center] Recently, the 13 major competitions of the 2019 (12th) China University Computer Design Competition were held in Changchun, Beijing, Wuhu, Suzhou, Hangzhou and other places. There were more than 10,000 colleges and universities and more than 10,000 organizations nationwide participated in the competition. After a series of competitions at different levels, YSU’7 out of 28 teams of 21 undergraduates participated in the national Final competition. The Software Engineering Department of the School of Information Science and Engineering was responsible for the organization and selection of the applicants. Our university has participated in this competition since 2014. This is the sixth time of participation this year. The entry “Elevator Warning Monitoring System”, which was directed by the teacher from the Software Engineering Department teacher, won the national first prize for the first time. This competition has seen the great progress of our university in the academic competition.
The competition encourages students to participate in extracurricular science and technology activities in the form of competitions. It not only provides students a platform to demonstrate their creativity, but also provides an opportunity for teachers and students to learn from each other and progress together, thus stimulating students’ interest and potentials in learning computer knowledge and skills. This competition is useful for students to raise awareness of solving practical problems with technology.
