[News from the News Center] On the afternoon, Nov. 1, the inaugural meeting of the “Collegiate Counselor Association” by China Education Television (CETV) as well as the “Seminar for Public Courses of Moral Education Program” was held in Beijing. Leaders from the Bureau of the Publicity and Education of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and the Department of Moral Education of the Ministry of Education attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting was presided over by Yuan Xiaoping, Director of CETV. Cai Xingzhou, Director of the Department of Student Affairs of the Party Committee of the YSU Party Committee, Duan Lei, Deputy Director of the Department of Student Affairs of the Party Committee of the YSU Party Committee, Hao Haibin, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Wang Yinsi, counselor from the School of Mechanical Engineering, were invited.
At the meeting, experts, counselors and media representatives conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the courses of moral education and the reform and innovation of the “Public Courses of Moral Education”. 12 counselors from YSU including Wang Yinsi, who had participated in the programs “I Am a Counselor” or “Listening to Teachers” and teachers of moral education courses spoke at the meeting. They believed that the two programs of CETV have given full play to the advantages as a media. The screens and the new media have provided a platform for the exchange of the teachers in colleges and universities, and has played a good role in demonstrating and guiding the construction of moral education courses and the construction of counselors.

In order to build a media platform that can serve the moral educators throughout the country, CETV together with nationwide colleges and universities has established the “Collegiate Counselor Association” and the “Public Courses of Moral Education Touring Report Group”. YSU was invited as one of the first 38 member units of the Collegiate Counselor Association. On behalf of YSU, Cai Xingzhou, Director of the Department of Student Affairs, accepted the award.
Wang Yin was invited as a member of the Public Courses of Moral Education Touring Report Group.
In addition, CETV has selected 35 outstanding counselors and teachers of moral education throughout the country as members of the “Public Courses of Moral Education Touring Report Group”. Wang Yinsi, YSU counselor, is the only one who has been invited in Hebei Province.
