[News from the News Center] On the morning of October 31, Zhao Xianfeng, YSU Party Secretary, and Zhao Dingxuan, YSU President, went to Taiyuan University of Technology to do field research, and visit alumni for cooperation among the relevant directors from university office, Graduate School, Research Institute, Teachers’ Teaching Development Center,Anniversary Office, and Alumni Office.
YSU delegation was warmly received by Wu Yucheng, Party Secretary of Taiyuan University of Technology (TUT), Huang Qingxue, TUT President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as the Distinguished Alumni of YSU, Vice President Shu Xuefeng among others.

At the symposium, Huang Qingxue expressed his warm welcome to the visit of the main leadership of his alma mater. He reviewed his study experience, and expressed his gratitude for the education in his alma mater. He introduced the development of TUT, especially the related situation in recent years in serving Shanxi “Bing the leader of the energy revolution”, as well as the characteristics and highlights in personnel training, innovation and entrepreneurship, undergraduate education, etc. It is hoped that the two universities will deepen the cooperation in the future, and work together to make progress.

Wu Yucheng warmly welcomed YSU delegation to visit TUT. He said that YSU has distinctive characteristics and outstanding achievements, especially in the fields of heavy machinery and metastable materials. He introduced that TUT has been serving Shanxi in recent years, and has been continuously reforming and innovating in new fields such as medical unions, security disciplines, and aerospace. It is hoped that the two universities will learn from each other, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and achieve common development.

Zhao Xianfeng expressed his heartfelt thanks to TUT for their warm reception. He pointed out that the purpose of this trip is to learn from the experiences of TUT in its development. TUT has a long history with distinctive features. In recent years, it has achieved a series of achievements in personnel training, teaching and research, innovation and entrepreneurship, integration of medical work, and construction of new campuses. There are many experiences and practices worth learning. The second is to visit outstanding alumni. I consulted the Academician Huang Qingxue for his suggestion on the work of YSU’s 100thanniversary. The third is to strengthen the cooperation. There is strong mutual recognition and great cooperation space. More cooperation is expected in the future.

Zhao Dingxuan spoke highly of the history and strength of TUT. He detailed the history, development status and future planning of Yanshan University. He said that the two universities have similar types of education, and we can learn from each other in the discipline construction. It is hoped that the two universities will be able to communicate with each other in the future, deepen cooperation, and work together.
After the symposium, YSU delegation also visited the Four-engineering- space of the Taiyuan University of Technology Engineering Center, the library, and the art academy. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on relevant issues.
