[News from the News Center] On the morning of Nov. 26, YSU Center for Classical Chinese Stage Performance Research was inaugurated at B105, Building of Music.

Center for Classical Chinese Stage Performance Research was inaugurated.

Chen Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of YSU Committeeof CPC and YSU Vice President, Tong Xin, a famous TV director, and XieChunfeng, Director of the Center for Moral Education Research of Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences, attended the ceremony as well as leaders, teachers and students of the School of Arts and Design. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Zhuyan, Director of the Center for Classical Chinese Stage PerformanceResearchand Deputy Dean of the School of Arts and Design.

Chen Guoqiang fully affirmed the significance of the Center for Classical Chinese Stage PerformanceResearch and stated how to express classical Chinese works in the form of art and drama. Tong Xin hoped that the cooperation between the two sides would further promote the classical Chinese stage performance.Zhang Wenchao detailed the work of the Center and arranged the follow-up work.

Representatives of teachers and students of the School of Arts and Designgave a classical Chinese stage performance, withZheng, ancient poetry and dance.

Prof.XieChunfengwas invited to give the first lecture of Chinese Classics – “To be aware of, confident in and conscious of Chineseculture”. The Center for Classical Chinese Stage PerformanceResearch was jointly established by YSU and Beijing IMusicHuaxia Art Academy. In the future, the two sides will promote courses onChinese traditional culture through academic exchanges and discussions, as well as practice and performance, in order to expressexcellent Chinese traditional culture stage art, and contribute to the inheritance of classical Chinese stage art.
